Authenticity Guarantee

At GILD Archive, authenticity is not a claim—it is a prerequisite.

Every item offered for sale has been verified as authentic prior to listing.
If authenticity cannot be established with confidence, the item is not sold.

Verified Before Listing

All items undergo an authentication review before they are accepted into the archive.

Verification may include:

  • Examination of materials, construction, and craftsmanship

  • Review of branding, markings, engravings, and manufacturing details

  • Cross-referencing against known authentic examples and archival references

  • Assessment of packaging and accompanying accessories when applicable

Authentication is conducted manually and deliberately—never automated or assumed.

How We Authenticate Items at GILD Archive

  • When present, original packaging, accessories, and accompanying materials are reviewed for consistency, quality, and period correctness.

This includes construction, printing, materials, and formatting—assessed as supporting indicators, not standalone proof of authenticity.

  • Each item is evaluated against verified authentic references.

This process includes comparison of proportions, construction details, materials, finishing, and manufacturing traits commonly associated with genuine examples, as well as known inconsistencies found in replicas or reproductions.

  • We conduct a close inspection of all visible components relevant to the item’s category.

This may include surfaces, edges, hardware, engravings, stitching, fasteners, or decorative elements—assessing execution, wear patterns, and craftsmanship details consistent with authentic production.

  • Materials are evaluated to confirm they align with known specifications and period-correct usage.

This may include assessment of metals, stones, leathers, textiles, or composite components, with attention to weight, finish, construction, and aging characteristics.

  • Where design permits and when appropriate, internal or structural components are examined to verify construction and authenticity.

This step is performed selectively and carefully, with priority placed on preserving the integrity and condition of the item.

How We Grade Items at GILD Archive

We apply a disciplined grading framework to give collectors a clear, honest understanding of an item’s condition before it ever changes hands.

Every piece in the GILD Archive is evaluated individually through a structured, detail-driven process assessing materials, surface condition, structure, and overall preservation.

Grades are assigned conservatively—without optimization or embellishment—and supported by detailed photography, so expectations are set accurately from the start.

Provenance & Due Diligence

Condition grading is only one part of our intake process.

Before listing, items are reviewed for provenance and legitimacy using relevant identifiers, construction details, and historical references. Pieces that cannot be responsibly verified are declined—regardless of demand.

Our process is designed to reduce risk, increase confidence, and ensure only items that meet our standards are offered through the archive.

At Gild Archive, our responsibility is simple: to ensure every item we offer is authentic, accurately represented, and held to the highest standard.

Our work is done so collectors never have to question what they’re buying— only whether it belongs in their collection.

A Baseline, Not a Feature

Authenticity at GILD Archive is not presented as a selling point—it is the baseline for participation in the archive.

Every item listed has been reviewed, verified, and accepted with intent.
